University of Phayao was previously a campus of Naresuan University, Phitsanulok Province. The School of Medical Sciences was officially established in October 2007, which remained under the name of Naresuan University. We became an independence University in July 2010. The aims of the School of Medical Sciences establishment are to produce Bachelor graduates in the field of Medical Sciences to meet the Government Plan of Public Health Development and the Government Plan of Science and Technology Development. Moreover, the School is responsible for teaching and training both in basic and pre-clinical sciences to all health science allies' undergraduate students.
The earliest curriculum of the school started from transferring all of the microbiology undergraduate students from the School of Science and Technology to our school under the Division of Microbiology & Parasitology. Later on, the curriculum of Science and Technology in Sports was set up in 2009. In the year 2011, the School had been reformed into 5 groups, i.e., Anatomy; Physiology; Microbiology; Parasitology; and Pathology. Division of Pathology, however, thereafter had been transferred to the School of Medicine. In 2012, the School had set up 2 additional Divisions: Division of Biochemistry and Division of Nutrition and dietetics. Currently, our 5 Divisions are as the followings:
o Division of Anatomy
o Division of Physiology
o Division of Biochemistry
o Division of Nutrition and dietetics
o Division of Microbiology and Parasitology
To serve the University determination, "Wisdom for Community Empowerment", our missions are therefore comprises of teaching all the health science allies' students in basic and pre-clinic courses, doing research, acting community services, and nourishing local cultural heritages.
To achieve those missions, our organization operated the core value as "TRICK" to success. We defined our TRICK as below:
